Why do we need queer wedding photographers?

Queer wedding photography is still pretty revolutionary. In communities where people have achieved the most equality- queer weddings might not be as big of a deal- but for many of us being ourselves is still a radical act. So the celebration of our love is a beautiful, complicated, and miraculous event.

Being queer is how I love. It’s a central aspect of my identity. There is no me without it. For a very long time we weren’t allowed to love who we wanted to love. It takes an incredible amount of courage to figure out who you are, become yourself, feel like you deserve love, go out and find your love, and stand up and proclaim your love in public. People overcome so many hardships to get to this point that it is an incredible honor and privilege for me to witness it and capture it for generations to come.

When queer people are finally equal our love will no longer be a radical act. It will simply be the normal yet beautiful event that it is. I

’m dedicating the rest of my life to showing the world the beauty of our love with the hope that it becomes truly normal sooner rather than later. My goal is to help craft a new queer aesthetic in art and wedding photography.

When you are planning your wedding, you want to relax and have a good time. Your beauty, love, and all the work you’ve done to make this day happen is something to celebrate. You want to have control over how you are represented. You want a photographer who sees you as beautiful regardless of what the rest of the world thinks. You want to be seen the way you see yourself. I can do this. I know how beautiful you are. My goal is to capture you, your joy, and your love so that you can revisit these memories over your lifetime.
